Kootenay Worm Composting is proud to be the Canadian owner/manufacturer of the
Continuous Air Flow
"Worm Hut"
Breathable, indoor, flow-through, worm composting system!
Easy, Simple, Amazing Compost...watch video below.
This continuous flow-through system is made of breathable, waterproof, extremely durable Cordura 1000 fabric with a zipper top.
Overview: Fill 3/4 of the Worm Hut with bedding (shredded newspapers & cardboard pieces). Add Large bag of Worm/Compost mix & cover with dry bedding material. Keep all bedding nice & damp like a wrung out sponge. When feeding, always cover all food scraps with 2" of dry bedding (this helps to prevent fruit fly infestations). The worms generally stay in the upper one third 'feeding zone' while the castings accumulate in the bottom of the cone shaped bag. Harvest in six months time (1st harvest only) by opening bottom of the bag & removing the vermicompost into a dish pan. Keep repeating this process every three-four months after that...it's that simple!
Testimonial says it all:
Thanks Susan, I need to have a second home as the red wriggler family has expanded greatly. They are just such happy campers. I was optimistic about this system from the start but it just keeps on exceeding my expectations every week and the system looks like a million dollars doing it, always. When I look at the you tube self-proclaimed worm expert's videos with their plastic tubs, I enjoy that I do not have to fluff their kingdom up to keep a proper level of ventilation and air flow in the bed because it is all so totally self-contained. The worms do all the maintenance and handle the creation of castings ideally with such natural perfect automation. It's just so much fun giving them their chow every week or so and they eat like royalty because they deserve it.
It's always good for the truth to be stated about amazing things that one comes across in the lifetime. People, whether they realize it or not, are always looking for sincere justifiable input. With so many things to choose from in the virtual worm land of our reality its good to have an honest reflection to help someone decide if it might be worthwhile for them to invest in that on a personal basis actually does something for the greater good while at the same time is not difficult, does not take a lot of time, but pays such dividends in the rewards of happiness that are so important for us to claim. Who knew a person could get so excited about having another empty toilet paper tube to shred for the wriggler team?
As the family grows, I will likely order more of your high-quality worm huts in the future. - Peter H, Castlegar B.C.
